Curved glass wall and reflecting pool

Selected from the POBO project archive.

A continuous image around a quiet centre.

Wudi & C&D · Xiyuan brings decorative glass into exterior and interior settings in Wuhan. A curved decorative-glass wall surrounds a reflecting pool, with landscape imagery extending across a sequence of panels. Other photographs place the material at an entrance and within an interior, offering several ways to read its relationship with light and enclosure.

Background / spatial intent

The curved wall gathers the composition around the water. Its shape makes the image visible as a long sequence rather than as a single frontal panel. Planting rises behind the wall, while the pool introduces a second, reflected view. The arrangement brings a broad architectural boundary and a quieter central space into the same picture, with the landscape imagery connecting them visually.

A sense of the detail.

Application of glass

Decorative-glass landscape panels follow the curve of the enclosure, with vertical divisions remaining visible within the larger image. Entrance and interior views provide additional contexts for the surface. Across these settings, the image is held within architectural boundaries that determine its scale and its relationship with the viewer. The curved wall gives the longest view of that relationship, extending the composition around the water.

Material expression

The pale wall, darker landscape marks and reflections in the pool create a restrained tonal composition. The image changes its emphasis as the view moves along the curve: sometimes the panel divisions are prominent, and sometimes the whole landscape reads as a continuous backdrop. In illuminated views, the material becomes a brighter field within the surrounding architecture, while retaining its visible panel rhythm.

Details that shape the reading.

A curved field

The image is distributed across a sweeping wall, giving it a different presence from a single flat feature panel.

A reflected counterpart

The pool repeats parts of the wall and introduces a quieter foreground to the composition.

Visible panel rhythm

Vertical divisions remain part of the architecture while the landscape imagery connects adjacent panels.
