02 / A new perspective

Contemporary.
A new point of view.
Material & architectural perspectives
A considered transition.
A door is experienced in movement: approached, opened and seen from either side. Decorative glass can make this transition part of the material composition, whether the opening is prominent or intended to sit quietly within a wall.

A glass surface can introduce a pattern, a reflection or a view through the opening. Its appearance can connect the two rooms while giving the door its own visual character.

↗Design considerations
Contemporary can align a surface with a room’s proportions. Stripe & Fabric Effect can echo a tall opening; Color offers a way to connect adjacent palettes. Explore these as visual directions before resolving the door construction.
Review the surface from each side of the opening and against the different backgrounds beyond it.
Bring the frame, handles, hinges and proposed fixing details into the discussion. Confirm the glass specification around the assembly.
Consider the view with the door open and closed, together with the required clearances and project-specific safety requirements.
